ERM Power has signed two large-scale generation certificate (LGC) agreements with Nexif Energy to support construction of the A$450m ($337.5m) Lincoln Gap windfarm in South Australia.
The 212MW project will be built by Senvion Wind Energy Solutions. Construction of the proposed 59-turbines is expected to commence later this year, with plans to begin electricity generation by mid next year.

By GlobalDataNexif Energy's Australia chief executive officer (CEO) Zeki Akbas said the 'deal was a significant milestone for the project and took it closer to financial closure'.
Akbas said: “These long-term agreements will see ERM Power buy LGCs generation by the Lincoln Gap Windfarm in the coming years helping deliver renewable energy into the grid.
“It is a vote of confidence in the project, the town of Port Augusta, and South Australia at a time when the need for innovative and reliable energy solutions in the state has never been higher.
“The project will also create a substantial number of jobs and stimulate economic activity in the region.”
Electricity generated by the project will be fed into South Australia’s grid through the Electranet transmission network. The project is anticipated to produce enough electricity to power around 111,000 homes, Nexif stated.
