US-based renewable energy projects developer Merit SI and KOMIPO America have signed a joint development agreement to complete the development and construction of 150MW Concho Valley Solar project.
Located in Tom Green County, Texas, Concho Valley Solar project will benefit from Merit SI’s advanced power plant controls platform.

Merit SI said that its power plant controls platform has been designed to enable intermittent renewable power plants to increase revenue by providing reliability services to the power grid.
The company added that its control system is currently managing 500MW of solar power plants on the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid.
KOMIPO America vice-president Brian Jeon said: “We are pleased to partner with the experienced and talented team at Merit SI, which has a history of developing, engineering and executing innovative, high-performing, utility-scale solar power plants since 2007.
“Concho Valley Solar will support KOMIPO’s long-term plan to expand in the US renewable energy market.”
With sales offices in Austin and Houston in Texas and an engineering office in Central New Jersey, MERIT SI offers solar photovoltaic power systems, energy storage and power plant optimisation controls.
In January 2018, Turner Renewable Energy and associated investors acquired a minority stake in Merit SI. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
