Upon completion, the wind project is expected to generate enough clean, renewable energy to power nearly 50,000 households.

The project, featuring 133 units of the 1.6MW GE turbine, will interconnect into an existing 138kV transmission line owned by International Transmission Company.

Under a 20-year power purchase agreement, DTE Energy will own and operate half of the wind farm and purchase the remaining power from Invenergy.

The facility, which is being built by Aristeo Construction, is expected to start commercial operations in the first quarter of 2012.
