The Kingfisher Project (Stage 2) – Battery Energy Storage System is being developed by Lyon Group. The project is owned by Lyon Group (100%).

The key applications of the project are renewables capacity firming and renewables energy time shift.

Contractors involved

Lyon Group is the owner. Lyon Group is the developer. AES Energy Storage is the technology provider for the project.

Downer EDI Engineering Co Pty and WorleyParsons Engineering Pty are the EPC contractors for the project.

Additional information

The project will be connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM), the wholesale electricity market in Australia and features two stages of development. Stage 1 project will deliver 20 MWdc of Solar PV plus a minimum of 2 MWhr lithium-based battery storage. Kingfisher Project (Stage 2) – BESS is the Stage 2 project which will deliver 100 MW of solar PV with a 100 MWh of battery storage.
