The state of Saxony funded the energy storage system in Chemnitz with subsidies of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the amount of one million euros. As opposed to the modular product series BELECTRIC Energy Buffer Unit (EBU), the battery system installed in Chemnitz is integrated into a building. The storage building was developed and realised in cooperation with the architects and engineers of ADOBE Architekten+Ingenieure GmbH.
