EnergyFog Systems (EFS) has been assigned by Enipower, the Italian electric utility owned by ENI, the giant company active in the oil and gas field, with the task to supply its fogging systems to each of the gas power stations Enipower owns and operates in the north of Italy (Ferrera Erbognone, Mantova and Ferrara).

Ferrara is operated in co-ownership with EGL Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the Swiss utility EGL. All six GTs installed in these stations have been supplied by Ansaldo Energia, Italy.

This contract is expected to be completed before the summer of 2011. It was awarded after an accurate two-year test in Ferrera Erbognone 2, successfully performed under the guidance of Enipower and Ansaldo Energia, who is also charged with the long-term maintenance of the GTs.

The test was able to confirm the benefits related to the installation of the fogging system, even in a region with a non-tropic climate, and to demonstrate that the use of fogging does not cause any harm to the compressor blades.

As requested by the Italian Grid, EFS, having developed a special accelerated schedule, was able to perform the installation of the portion of the fogging system which operates inside the air intake channel of the GTs during short station overhauls.
