Pemamek’s success has been underscored by its customer-centric approach, wherein it partners with customers to strengthen its core competencies and design unique welding solutions in line with their specific needs.
"Unlike many of its competitors that have been hard hit by the global downturn, Pemamek has witnessed stable growth during the same period," said Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Guru Mahesh.
"The effective leverage of over 40 years of experience in welding automation and its customer-centric strategy has positioned it among the top three participants in the global space."
Pemamek offers welding and production automation solutions for different welding industries. Solutions vary from a complete, turn-key factory deliveries up to single robotised welding equipment, such as column and booms, roller beds, work-piece positioners, and other work-piece handling equipment, along with the unique PEMA WeldControl family of products. Its user-friendliness, easy implementation, and ‘on-the-go’ programming and welding ensure high-quality welding and significantly boost the overall productivity and efficiency levels of customers.
Approximately 90% of Pemamek’s production lines are exported, as overseas customers perceive the value of its reliable, high-performance, high-tech welding automation solutions. Pemamek has secured repeat orders from many of its customers, such as G & G International, Cargotec and Keppel FELS, which is a testimony to the customer loyalty it enjoys in the global welding automation market.
This hard-won customer loyalty is supported by strategic partnerships with industry majors such as Lincoln Electric Corporation (Lincoln Electric) and Yaskawa Nordic AB (YASKAWA); the first was to augment its marketing and sales competencies in the welding automation space with Pemamek and the second was a system partnership with the largest producer of robots in the world.
Innovative WeldControl systems
As a result of its collaborations, Pemamek has launched solution series of PEMA WeldControl for advantageous management of welding processes. There are six different levels of PEMA WeldControl system, of which the PEMA 200 VisionWeld is a patented automation system, particularly developed for shipbuilding and civil construction. Unlike the conventional offline welding systems, PEMA 200 VisionWeld is characterized by an in-built computer-aided design (CAD) system, which enables robots to take numerous pictures of the work piece or the area, allowing operators to instantly draw the first weld for robots.
The PEMA WeldControl 500 Premium is the most advanced control system of the family. Its basic features (data gathering, an Ethernet connection, and manufacturing from any location) are similar to PEMA WeldControl 100’s, but it is also capable of multi-layer and adaptive welding, and is connected to a monitoring camera, a laser seam-tracking device, and auxiliary software that can be operated and regulated directly from its user interface.
Complete package of services
Besides the unique welding solutions that Pema has been able to deliver through customisation, the company reduces downtime through its offer of a turnkey project management service package and also improves the ergonomics of the working environment. The turn-key package includes a comprehensive range of services, starting from project planning, product designing, and product testing to installation and commissioning, coupled with customer support services.
"Pemamek acts as a responsible one-stop shop, where customers make profitable investments and enjoy improved output, a faster ROI, uninterrupted production, uniform quality, and optimum utilisation of resources," said Mahesh. "Working closely with customers enables Pemamek to acquire a clear and holistic understanding of their needs, and existing processes and systems, which leads to better planning, easy handling, and the timely completion of projects."
