ANDRITZ is a globally leading supplier of plants, equipment, and services for hydropower stations, the pulp and paper industry, the metalworking and steel industries, and for solid / liquid separation in the municipal and industrial sectors.
The publicly listed technology group is headquartered in Graz, Austria, and has a staff of almost 25,000 employees. ANDRITZ operates over 250 sites worldwide.
ANDRITZ has been executing a hydro electric project in Ulu Jelai, located approximately 200km north of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) in the state of Pahang.
The project involves the construction of an underground plant, which will house two Francis turbines with a power output of 191 MW each and the construction of approximately 26km of hydraulic tunnels, of which approximately 15km excavated with tunnel boring machines (TBM). The installed power of the system is 382 MW.
VJIKKS ENGG POWER (M) SDN BHD, with good experience in power industry was approached for a suitable solution to filter out dirt and sediments in the cooling water supply to Francis Turbines.
Having equipped with such a team of personnel with strong process knowledge about every system in a conventional fossil fuel fired power plants including combined cycle gas turbine power plants, VJIKKS ENGG POWER recommended a solution using LAKOS centrifugal separators.
After review, having been satisfied with the solution, ANDRITZ, placed an order on VJIKKS ENGG POWER (M) SDN BHD, to supply the LAKOS centrifugal separator.
VJIKKS ENGG POWER, with their team of personnel having extensively experience in fossil fuel Fired power plants have now entered into hydro power plant projects and looking forward to work on more projects with ANDRITZ.
