ESB International (ESBI) has secured an engineering contract to provide technical consultancy services to the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) of Bahrain.

The contract involves major work on Bahrain’s electricity transmission network and is valued at more than €1 million.

ESBI has been working with EWA in Bahrain for over 30 years on a range of projects relating to electricity generation, transmission and distribution, and maintains permanent staff in the region.

ESBI manager of engineering solutions, Ollie Brogan, said the contract reflects ESBI’s track record in Bahrain and the company’s enduring relationship with EWA. “We look forward to continuing this association with EWA over the duration of this project and beyond,” he said.

ESBI is a wholly owned subsidiary of ESB. It invests in, builds, owns and operates a number of power stations in the UK and internationally and provides a full range of engineering consultancy services to international utility customers.
