United Conveyor Corporation (UCC), a global leader in ash handling and custom-engineered material handling systems, announces the release of its improved 54in x 43in EXCEN-CRUSHER.

The EXCEN-CRUSHER effectively reduces clinker size in wet or dry applications with pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical conveying systems downstream in large industrial power plant and utility installations up to 1500MW.

“The upgraded high capacity EXCEN-CRUSHER represents a significant design evolution to better meet the industry’s needs to improve productivity goals and reduce maintenance spend in high volume utility operations,” says Dan Charhut, vice president at UCC. “The robust construction and design of our new clinker grinder guarantees the highest performance in clinker reduction, while extending parts life.”

Reduced maintenance cost

The EXCEN-CRUSHER features improved performance, reliability and service life to minimise maintenance costs and unplanned outages. The four-bolt chrome-alloy white cast iron DURITE H® cams are designed for severe-duty applications to best prevent loosening and unnecessary wear when compared to the previous three-bolt version. DURITE H anvil and combing plates increase wear life and reduce maintenance. The universal pre-drilled gearmotor mount provides flexibility in drive manufacturer and mounting orientation for installation ease.

Choose from two seal designs

The EXCEN-CRUSHER clinker grinder has two seal designs available: a fixed seal and a floating seal. The standard fixed seal uses spring loaded packing glands and seal rings to prevent leakage in wet or dry applications. The floating seal includes a flexible diaphragm allowing the packing gland to ride along the shaft so the seal constantly remains concentric and leak-free in wet or submerged applications.

The clinker grinder’s compact design and standard dimensions allow easy retrofit with no structural modifications requires. Crushers are shipped fully assembled to reduce installation time and cost.

Benefits of the United Conveyor Corporation 54inx43in EXCEN-CRUSHER include:

  • Higher capacity discharge of up to 150tph
  • 15hp motor drive unit for optimum reduction of the broadest range of friable materials
  • Longer product and parts life
  • Ease of maintenance and reduced repair cost
  • Fewer planned and unplanned outages
