Gas Turbine Controls (GTC) has introduced its LCD Thin Film Transistor (TFT), which will replace the outdated CRT of Speedtronic Mark IV.
Here are the five improvements explained:
Readability
Before we get carried away by how impressive this screen is, we need to answer the $64,000 question: What is LCD TFT technology?
LCD TFT tech is a liquid-crystal display that improves image quality through contrast and visual display. You’ll recognise LCD TFT used for ‘old-school’ mobile phones, navigation systems, and projectors.
We used the technology to create an LCD flat screen with anti-glare properties and high resolution. This means that your data will still fit just like it did on a CRT screen. but you’ll be able to see it much better.
Life expectancy
A good CRT screen will last you around ten years but many burn out after five. LCD screens, on the other hand, should stay sharp and clear indefinitely. Imagine cutting out the cost of your consecutive CRT screen purchases and using that money towards bettering your operations instead.
Plus, our LCD screens are cheaper than CRTs.
Enhanced protection
We often hear about CRT screens being affected by moisture and dust, even if they had only limited exposure. With the LCD TFT screens, you won’t have to worry about that- we’ve designed the screens to last in conditions where they’re exposed to those common room contaminants on a daily basis.
Smart shipping
Have you ever ordered a CRT screen and been shocked at how much you were being charged just for shipping? We kept that in mind when designing the LCD TFT screens: because they’re slim and lightweight, they can be flat-packaged, allowing for significant shipping cost reductions.
Drop-in Kit
To make it even easier for you, we developed the LCD screens as a drop-in kit so that they’re easy to install and ready to be used. You can find your kit in 110VAC / 60Hz or 240 VAC / 50Hz.
If you’re still not convinced that LCD screens are better than their CRT counterparts, know that we developed the LCD screens because we saw a gap in the gas turbine controls market: our customers didn’t love a part of their operations because their CRT screens just weren’t cutting it. They were having trouble keeping control of their plant operations so we decided to take matters into our own hands.
