Contec, one of Germany’s leading solutions provider of innovative filtration and separation systems, today announced that they have signed a representation and distribution agreement with Marty Hendrickx of Component Specialists in Roscoe, Illinois to meet the increasing demand for the Contec oil mist separators (COMS) in the US.

Contec’s plans to develop operations and projects in the US were initiated by visits to various trade shows, as well as increasing requests for COMS directly from the US. The new distribution cooperation which includes after-sales services and direct delivery of spare and wearing parts within the US, will be the company’s second representation outside Germany, as the company has recently set up a new distributer in Hyderabad, India as well.

With Marty Hendrickx, Contec continues strengthening its sales on the US market. Marty has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and engineering of components for the commercial vehicle and power generation industry, so this new cooperation and representation will allow Contec to better serve, market and commercialise its products on the US market.

The managing director of Contec, Jochen Lehmkuhl said: "The new distribution agreement and representation in Roscoe, Illinois is an important step towards realising our sales targets outside Germany. This new representation is the first of many important changes for the company in 2013. It will help us to provide a better and quicker service and thereby further grow the business that we currently enjoy in the US."

The power generation as well as oil and gas industry has undergone significant changes after Fukushima, towards a mix of conventional, but more efficient power and renewable technology.

A filtration system for the extraction and filtration of oil mist was developed by Contec in 1987 in close cooperation with one of their customers. This was the starting point of the COMS, which was awarded the Environmental Technology Award in 1990.

The filter system has recently been adapted for the extraction and filtration of oil mist on the celebrity silhouette which is the fourth of five ships for the shipping company Celebrity Cruises.
