NeuCo, provider of power plant optimization software systems, today announced the launch of an on-demand webcast: ‘Optimizing Combustion and Heat Transfer at Xcel Harrington’.
Recorded live from the NeuCo and Xcel Energy-hosted Plant Optimization Tour at the Harrington power plant in Amarillo, Texas on 18 November, this webcast provides an opportunity for those who did not attend the live event to hear firsthand how boiler optimization technology gets applied in the field and the type of benefits to expect.
Harrington plant senior engineer, Anthony Perez, discusses the plant’s use of NeuCo’s BoilerOpt™ software to reduce NOx emissions, minimize unnecessary sootblowing operations and increase unit reliability, both at base load and while ramping to accommodate wind generation. The project justification, objectives, constraints, implementation procedures and benefits at Harrington’s three 360MW CE T-fired generating units are also discussed.
The webcast is a recorded segment of a two-day Plant Optimization Tour event, one in a series of events hosted by NeuCo and customer sites to provide power plant personnel who are interested in the technology with an opportunity to see the systems in action and get their questions answered directly by current users.
According to Peter Kirk, NeuCo’s president and CEO: “One attendee said they appreciated how NeuCo encouraged customers, prospects and the host site to trade notes and experiences without needing to manage every interaction. Another saw value in learning how others deal with similar problems. Given the positive feedback, we decided to extend the event’s reach through a webcast that others can virtually attend. We hope it encourages others to participate in future tours.”
