SA Robotics has won a contract to deliver a powered remote manipulator (PRM) and control system for the DMTR PIE cave at the Dounreay site in the United Kingdom. The PRM standard configuration includes six degrees of freedom with gripper actuation and tool handling capabilities. The PRM joints are modular in nature, allowing for additions or reconfigurations to accommodate varying cell layouts and operating requirements.
The PRM will be deployed through the existing MSM wall ports in order to reach all areas of the cell. Various tools will be used for decontamination and dismantlement of the cell internals.
This is an exciting project for SA Robotics as the PRM continues to prove itself as a leading manipulator in its class for meeting our customers’ needs.
