Parker Hannifin Corporation, the global leader in motion and control technology, is bringing customers a low-energy wireless sensor platform for monitoring equipment pressure, temperature and humidity in liquid and gas applications. SensoNODE™ Mobile gives facility managers a new front line in advanced condition monitoring that uses Bluetooth® Smart sensors to put vital data in the palms of their hands with any iOS mobile device (iPhone®, iPad® or iPod Touch®).
Developed with the mobile worker in mind, SensoNODE helps power generation facilities eliminate downtime and reduce unnecessary maintenance routines with accurate and efficient equipment monitoring. Its low-cost, simple installation allows users to easily attach its low-power sensors to machinery, even in the most difficult-to-reach locations. Information is transmitted directly to a robust data platform on the user’s mobile device, which is designed to trend, assess, and monitor machine health quickly and accurately.
Tad Orstad, applications engineer with Parker’s Quick Coupling Division (QCD), will be demonstrating the SensoNODE platform in Booth #2013 at the Power-Gen® International conference, 9-11 December 2014, at the Orange County Convention Center / West Halls in Orlando, Florida, US.
"Downtime means costly equipment repairs and lost revenue," says Tad Orstad.
"SensoNODE gives facility managers great insight into machine health, allowing them to monitor equipment for performance issues and evaluate the data while on-site so they can identify problems and address them before equipment failure occurs."
SensoNODE is designed for fast installation without wires or tools, and are powered by long-life batteries. The system can be used for both liquid and gas applications, and is engineered to work in multiple configurations with various pressure ranges. The sensors turn on with a simple twist of the signature blue cap and automatically power off after a few minutes of no connection. The feature-rich user interface is designed for use with iOS8 mobile devices and makes for familiar, easy-to-use navigation.
"SensoNODE offers a robust digital and analog interface that allows users to view real-time and historical information with user-definable alerts, alert acknowledgements and triage," Orstad adds.
"This wireless monitoring solution is a great addition to our globally recognised Parker SensoControl product line."
SensoNODE sensors are available from Parker’s Quick Couplings Division, and the app is available for free download from the Apple® App Store.
