Joining Technologies, an innovator in industrial laser applications, will be highlighting its laser additive capabilities at the Laser Institute of America’s fifth annual Laser Additive Manufacturing Workshop (LAM®), to be held 12-13 February, 2013, in Houston, Texas.
In addition, Joining Technologies will be showcasing the cutting edge work done by the Joining Technologies Research Center (JTRC), a partnership with world-renowned laser development and research institutes: Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT), located in Aachen, Germany and Fraunhofer Center for Laser Technology (CLT), located in Plymouth, MI.
Joining Technologies, a gold level sponsor of LAM will highlight its capabilities using innovative laser cladding of metal powder alloys to enhance, repair, or freeform material for applications in aerospace, power generation, valve and OEM-supplied components.
The precision laser cladding processes accomplish virtually unlimited build-up heights in complex geometric dimensions. The company will also showcase its newly expanded capabilities for internal diameter (ID) cladding. The technique is ideal for extending service life to oil and gas equipment, pumps, sleeves and extruder components.
As part of JTRC, Fraunhofer ILT provides laser additive manufacturing research and development services, as well as system design and integration and accessory sales.
The partnership with both Fraunhofer ILT and CLT allows Joining Technologies to offer a range of services, including feasibility studies as part of process development, validation and certification, systems engineering and system integration of a complete industrial implementation at a customer’s site.
