Induron Protective Coatings has expanded its production facility in Birmingham, Alabama, US.
The renovation, which cost $1.2m, increases production and adds 17,500ft² of space, bringing the total to approximately 29,500ft².
Induron president Davies Hood said: "It is a much smoother flow."
He also added that the expansion allowed new equipment to be installed, increasing the plant’s efficiency. It was the company’s biggest refurbishment since the 1960s.
Induron, which started life as a supplier of rust-resistant primers to the steel industry, expanded into the industrial primer and paint business in the 60s.
AT&T Alabama president and Birmingham Business Alliance chairman Fred McCallum said: "We have a motivated, educated and well-trained work force. We are really just getting started."
