Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has obtained a 1.14GW firm order to supply turbines for the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, to be located offshore Poland in the Baltic Sea.
The order was placed by the joint project development venture of Polish oil and gas company Orlen and its Canadian partner Northland Power. The project has now attained financial close.
Vesta will supply, install and commission 76 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines, then service them under a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 agreement.
The wind farm will be located 23km from the coast near Łeba. Turbine delivery is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2025 and commissioning is anticipated in 2026.

The developers have received $3.8bn in project financing with a 20-year term from 25 commercial banks and a number of export credit agencies and multilateral agencies.
Vestas was selected as the preferred supplier for the turbines in September 2022.
The wind farm will generate enough clean energy to power 1.5 million Polish homes annually.
