The Summerview II Wind Farm – Battery Energy Storage System was developed by TransAlta. The project is owned by TransAlta (100%), a subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management.

The key applications of the project are renewable energy integaration, electric energy time shift and grid support services.

Tesla and TransAlta have delivered the battery energy storage project.

The project received co-funding support from Emissions Reduction Alberta and will be the first utility-scale battery storage facility in Alberta.
