Globally, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 have reached over 47,521,000 with over 1,215,000 deaths and 31,668,000 recoveries.
The US, India and, Brazil remain as the top-3 most heavily affected countries globally, making up 49% of the world’s total confirmed cases.
However, over the last week, the most substantial increase in new cases and deaths has been reported in Europe.
A rise in new cases has also been seen in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean region.
Iran is the worst-hit country in this area and has recorded the highest number of deaths since the outbreak began.
