UK-based SIMEC Atlantis Energy has completed the installation of a 500kW tidal stream turbine in China in spite of the coronavirus pandemic. The tidal stream turbine, which has a rotor diameter of 18m, has been installed in the islands of Putuoshan and Huludao in the Zhoushan archipelago off China’s east coast.

The ongoing lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak is expected to dent revenues of General Electric’s (GE) power business.
