Korea Electric Power (KEPCO) has decided to sell its 30MW solar power plant in Colorado, US. The state utility firm invested $17m in the facility in July 2016, but it intends to divest the plant’s assets including the land in the second half of 2021. According to Pulse News Korea, the company will completely liquidate the venture in the second quarter of 2022.
British investment firm Actis has started negotiations to acquire Indian clean energy firm ReNew Power’s 550MW green energy projects for nearly $400m. This will become the largest deal in India since the Covid-19 outbreak. The projects on sale are the 300MW solar project at Pavagada Solar Park in the Tumkur district of Karnataka, and a 250MW wind farm in Gujarat.
Enel Green Power has started building the Partanna wind farm in Sicily. The project will generate nearly 40GWh/year from renewable resources. Scheduled to become fully operational in April next year, the facility will use six 2.4MW wind turbines.
Vestas has secured a 36MW turbine order from Elawan Energy for four wind projects in Poland. The order includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as Active Output Management 4000 service contracts for ten years.
