Horizon Nuclear Power, a subsidiary of Japanese conglomerate Hitachi, plans to revive plans for a UK nuclear power plant, the Financial Times has reported. Hitachi suspended the $26.2bn (£20bn) Wylfa project at the beginning of last year after failing to reach a financing agreement.
Apollo Global Management has reached an agreement to acquire a stake in offshore wind developer US Wind for $265m. The investment includes both debt and equity. Proceeds will finance the construction of an offshore wind project off the coast of Maryland.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India has extended the deadline to bid for 2.5GW capacity of solar projects in the Koppal district of Karnataka to 29 September 2020, due to the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The scope of work for the tender involves the acquisition of land, connectivity, and obtaining long-term access approvals by the solar power developer. The tender was first launched in April this year.
Australian energy company Jemena has teamed up with Deloitte to build a new cloud-based application to support customers to make better energy decisions. To be built on Amazon Web Services, the new application will enable Jemena to better understand customer consumption habits and in turn, help it in personalising client communications.
