Danish wind turbine company Vestas has secured a 72MW order for the Holtsee wind energy project in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
Vestas will deliver and commission ten V162-7.2 MW wind turbines.
Denker & Wulf CEO Torsten Levsen stated: “New, efficient technologies are needed to best meet the changing challenges in the rapidly growing wind energy market. With the new EnVentus platform, Vestas can meet our requirements of handling economic challenges with technical brilliance.”
The company has also signed a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 agreement, which ensures that the turbines perform optimally.
The delivery of turbines is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the commissioning of the Holtsee wind project is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
Vestas sales central vice-president Sulai Fahimi stated: “This order from customer Denker & Wulf underlines the efficient technology of our EnVentus platform, as the V162-7.2 MW is the perfect fit for the site providing high annual production and excellent cost of energy for our customer.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this project, thereby resuming our collaboration with Denker & Wulf, one of the biggest project developers in the German market. We are looking forward to successful future business together.”
In June 2024 Vestas received an order for a 124MW wind energy project in Telsiai, Lithuania from Latvenergo and Utilitas Wind.
The project, a collaboration between Utilitas and Latvenergo, will feature 20 Vestas’ V162-6.2 MW wind turbines.
The contract includes the turbines’ supply, delivery and commissioning.
