India's renewable energy firm Suzlon Group has secured a 201.6MW wind turbine supply contract from Teq Green Power XI, part of O2 Power.

Under the contract, Suzlon will supply 64 of its wind turbine generators (WTGs) featuring a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower, with a rated capacity of 3.15MW each.

The company noted that it is one of the largest orders for its 3MW series turbine.

Suzlon Group CEO JP Chalasani said: “We are happy to announce our first order from Teq Green Power XI Private Limited, part of O2 Power Private Limited. With increasing commitment to renewables and rising demand, it is heartening to see more customers joining the Suzlon family.

“At Suzlon, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. This order demonstrates the trust that customers have in Suzlon's expertise as well as our 3MW series of products.

“We believe that our 3MW series will be a true game changer for the sector to accelerate and scale up wind energy installations in the country in line with our national targets of 500 GW non-fossil fuel installations by 2030.”

Suzlon’s scope of work also includes erection, and commissioning, along with operation and maintenance services for the turbines.

The wind facility is expected to be commissioned in 2025.

On completion, the clean energy generated by the project will power 166,000 households in the region, while displacing 655,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

O2 Power founder and CEO Parag Sharma said: “Clean energy generated by this wind park will play a massive role in providing reliable green power to key industries while contributing greatly to India's net-zero goals.”
