Solar tracker technology provider Nextracker has announced the delivery of the first US-manufactured solar trackers, expected to achieve 100% domestic content value under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).
This milestone marks a significant step in the localisation of the solar supply chain in the US.
Nextracker founder and CEO Dan Shugar stated: “Delivering the industry’s first trackers with 100% domestic content value is a huge milestone for our customers, our supply partners, and Nextracker. It demonstrates our ability to ramp and scale operations that directly benefit our customers — and sets a new standard for local supply chain resilience and operational excellence.
“By systematically focusing our manufacturing partnerships close to our customer project sites, we secure the supply chain and provide superior on-time delivery and cost savings for project development and construction. We also significantly de-carbonise our products by incorporating clean steel manufactured in the US.”
The first project to utilise domestic content trackers is SB Energy's Pelican's Jaw project, a 570MW solar and 954-megawatt-hours (MWh) storage project that SOLV Energy is currently constructing.

Nextracker began investing in local manufacturing infrastructure to address supply chain disruptions caused by the global pandemic back in 2021.
The company, in collaboration with its manufacturing partners, has expanded or opened 25 US factories and has an annual capacity of more than 30GW.
The establishment of a robust local supply chain by Nextracker significantly reduces lead times, offering top-quality products and enhancing performance, shipping logistics and flexibility throughout the construction and lifecycle of projects.
