Ingeteam has secured a supply contract for the 93MW Girgarre solar farm project in Victoria, Australia.
Ingeteam will provide its advanced power electronics technology, including 15 transformers or power stations as a turnkey solution, and a power plant controller system.
Located in Campaspe Shire, Victoria, the Girgarre solar farm, which is owned by Enel Green Power Australia (EGPA), will generate enough clean energy to power 43,000 Australian homes annually.
The building phase will take 18 months, with the plant's lifespan projected to be 35 years.
The solar farm's construction began in August 2023 and will see investment exceeding A$140m ($94.6m).
Beon Energy Solutions will be responsible for the construction of the project.
EGPA is committed to sustainable construction practices, working with contractors to enhance the positive impacts of renewable energy plants while minimising the environmental and community effects of construction activities.
Ingeteam's involvement in the Girgarre project adds to its growing portfolio in Australia, marking a decade since the inauguration of its Australian subsidiary in November 2013.
In January 2023, Enel Green Power Australia reached an agreement to acquire the 1GW Julia Creek renewable energy project in Australia from QEM.
The 1GW facility is near QEM’s Julia Creek vanadium and oil shale project in northwest Queensland.
Enel will make an upfront payment of A$3m, followed by two contingent milestone payments totalling A$4m and an additional contingent milestone payment upon reaching the final investment decision.
