The State Government of Rajasthan in India has allocated land to enhance its solar energy projects, aiming to generate 3GW of electricity.

The Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company has been allocated 4,780 hectares (ha) of land to establish three solar parks in the Bikaner district, which will have a combined capacity of 2.45GW.

NTPC Renewable Energy has received 910ha for a 500MW solar project in the Phalodi district.

The state’s chief minister has emphasised the government's commitment to ensuring these initiatives are effectively implemented, stating that "additional efforts are being undertaken to ensure these initiatives are effectively implemented to benefit the citizens of Rajasthan."

Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was quoted by The Times of India: “These projects will generate local employment opportunities and impart new impetus to economic activities in the region with easy access and sufficient power supply.

“These solar parks will employ cutting-edge solar panels and advanced grid technology to augment energy production capacity.”

The completion of these projects is targeted by 2026, with the state government offering a 33% subsidy to support their development, according to a report in The Times of India.

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) was quoted by the publication: “The government will form a committee to oversee the progress of the project and to ensure that it meets the timeline of two years. The committee would report to the CMO at regular intervals, and all bottlenecks in the way of development will be resolved on a priority basis."
