Spanish renewables developer Enfinity Global has acquired a portfolio of solar assets under development with a capacity of 546MW in the US state of Colorado from CS Energy.
The portfolio includes three solar projects with a mandate to generate 100% renewable energy by 2050. The projects will complement the company’s existing development presence in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council.
Construction on the portfolio is expected to begin over the coming two years. Once operational, the solar plants could generate enough clean energy to meet the needs of up to 57,000 US homes annually, equivalent to taking 101,500 cars off the road.
The acquisition will also allow Enfinity to further implement its long-term business strategy in the US.

Enfinity Global has a portfolio of more than 17GW, including 7.3GW in energy storage and 1GW of operational assets. It owns a portfolio of 400MW and 28 solar plants, along with 6GW of solar and storage assets under development in the US.
In January this year, the company acquired a 400MW portfolio consisting of 28 solar plants in the US states of California, North Carolina and Idaho from Capital Dynamics.
This portfolio produces 1,175 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually, enough to meet the energy demands of up to 64,000 homes.
