Danish wind turbine maker Vestas has secured a 134MW wind turbine order from Invenergy in Japan.

The wind turbines will be installed at Inaniwa Wind Energy Center, located in Iwate prefecture.

This is the largest order that Vestas has received in Japan.

The company will supply and install 32 of its V117-4.2MW turbines.

The Danish wind turbine maker has also signed a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement for the wind turbines.

Deliveries for the Inaniwa Wind Energy Center are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2027, with the project’s commissioning expected in the first quarter of 2028.
