Vestas has secured a wind turbine order for RWE‘s 900MW Nordseecluster B offshore wind project in Germany.
Vestas has agreed to supply 60 of its V236-15.0MW turbines. It will also handle the delivery and commissioning of the turbines.
The company has also committed to a five-year service agreement for the assets, which will be followed by a long-term operational support agreement.
Vestas Northern and Central Europe president Nils de Baar stated: “We are pleased to contribute to this landmark project for Europe’s offshore wind sector, reflecting our ongoing commitment to advancing clean energy solutions.
“Our gratitude goes to RWE for years of excellent collaboration, which has been essential in bringing this project to life.

By GlobalDataThe Nordseecluster project is being executed in two phases, A and B.
The site is strategically located 50km north of Juist Island in the German North Sea.
The first phase, Nordseecluster A, with a capacity of 660MW, was confirmed in June 2024 and comprises 44 V236-15.0MW turbines. Construction of phase one is expected to commence in 2025 with completion anticipated in 2027.
Turbine installation for Nordseecluster B is set for 2028, and the commencement of commercial operations is planned for the beginning of 2029.
RWE offshore wind chief operating officer Thomas Michel stated: “With the addition of Nordseecluster B to our portfolio of projects in execution, we are building offshore wind farms with a total capacity of 4.8GW.
“Working closely with our supply chain partners is critical to the successful delivery of this ambitious programme and we are very much looking forward to working with Vestas on our German offshore project Nordseecluster.”
