Spanish turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has secured an order from Macquarie Capital business Green Investment Group (GIG) to supply wind turbines for the 235MW Överturingen wind park in central Sweden.
Under the deal, SGRE will be supplying 56 units of the SWT-DD-130 wind turbine rated at 4.2MW each.

In addition to the delivery and installation of the turbines on a 155m hub height tower, the Spanish firm has also agreed to provide long-term service for a period of 25 years.

Europe’s largest private forest owner SCA has developed Överturingen wind park by partnering with Siemens Gamesa.
The turbines supplied by SGRE will have a tip height of 220m and will be amongst of the tallest structures in the Nordic countries.
Överturingen wind park is located in the Ånge community. The project is slated for completion in 2019, with commissioning expected to take place in the same year.
For this project, SGRE will be manufacturing nacelles and blades at its facilities located in Denmark, while the essential construction work will be sourced from local companies.
