Global engineering company Ramboll has concluded the acquisition of K2 Management, an engineering and management consultancy focused on wind and solar energy.
K2 Management is now formally integrated into Ramboll Group, enhancing the company’s capabilities in the wind sector.
This marks a significant expansion for Ramboll’s wind business, which has been growing at a rate of approximately 25% annually over the past three years.
Ramboll Global Wind Division director Tim Fischer said: “In the coming months, we will start to align our business practises closer, and work to integrate the best from each of us to ensure that our team continues to provide the high-quality services our clients and stakeholders know and respect us for.
“We expect to be fully operational as one combined global Ramboll Wind division during the first half [H1] of 2025.”
The acquisition has strengthened Ramboll’s global presence, with the wind segment now boasting over 900 experts across 20 countries. This includes new local presences in Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, and Portugal.

By GlobalDataThe move aligns with Ramboll’s strategic goal of expanding its global wind business to over 1,000 experts by 2025. This growth is in response to the increasing demand within the global wind market.
K2 Management co-founder Lars K Hammershøj said: “From now on we will be able to provide our clients with a full-service offering within offshore and onshore wind as well as solar, with increased resources to take on large wind projects and a strong global presence.
“Furthermore, due to synergies with different parts of the rest of the Ramboll organisation, we will be able to offer new services within the field of wind, renewable energies and energy systems.”
In April last year, Ilmatar Offshore and Ramboll Finland obtained approval for a seabed survey for a 1.2GW offshore wind farm.
