Renewable Power Capital (RPC) has announced the selection of US company Procter & Gamble as the offtake partner for a major wind project in Sweden.
The two companies have agreed to a ten-year PPA on RPC’s 140MW Sörlidberget wind park, which is currently under construction. RPC has agreed to supply Procter & Gamble with more than 90% of the project’s output, totalling around 400 gigawatt-hours per year.
Sörlidberget forms part of a cluster of four wind farms in Sweden’s Kramfors and Sollefteå municipalities. RPC acquired this wind cluster in June 2022, and operations are expected to commence between late 2025 and early 2026.
Once completed, the cluster will have a collective output of 553MW. Three other ten-year PPAs have been signed for this cluster of projects this year: two with LyondellBasell and one with Ardagh. With this latest PPA, almost all of the future wind cluster’s output has been contracted out.
In a press release, Steve Hunter, managing director of Power Markets and Asset Management at RPC, said: “With this deal, we are proud to have reached yet another major milestone for our largest investment to date. RPC has an impressive range of partners and we look forward to working with such a significant player as Procter & Gamble on their decarbonisation journey.”
UK-based energy investment company RPC has been increasing its footprint across Europe in recent years. As well as its onshore wind operations, which are spread across Sweden, Finland and Poland, the company also has 14 solar projects in development in Spain, in collaboration with Benbros Solar.
