Photon Energy Solutions HU has started constructing eight photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Almásfüzitő, Hungary.
The company is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the power facilities.
Located 75km north-west of Budapest near the Slovak border, the solarpower facilities are spread across 6.96ha and will feature nearly 20,000 Jinko PV modules with a capacity to generate approximately 6.6GWh of electricity per annum.
The solarpower facilities have a total capacity of 5.5MWp and will be built with an investment of nearly €6.1m.
Photon Energy CEO Georg Hotar said: “Following the recent announcement of construction start on 5.5MWp solar projects near Tiszakécske, the construction start on an additional eight solar projects in Almásfüzitő with a capacity of another 5.5MWp underlines our strong commitment to the Hungarian market and our goal to expand the company’s own portfolio of solar power plants.”
Upon completion, the power plants are expected to be connected to the grid of E.ON Észak-dunántúli Áramhálózati Zrt by the year-end.
