German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has secured new contracts to deliver wind turbines for three windfarms totalling 248MW in Turkey.
Boydak Enerji, a long-standing customer of Nordex, has placed an order for 21 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines with a 4.8MW rated capacity for the 110.8MW Ömerli windfarm, which will be built near Istanbul.
The company also placed an order for an additional 22 N117/3675 turbines for the Sibel project. Both orders placed by Boydak Enerji include premium service for the turbines for ten years.
Nordex has also agreed to build the 80.9MW Sibel windfarm in the Aegean region between Izmir and Manisa.
Nordex Group CSO Patxi Landa said: “Since 2013, Boydak Enerji has been using turbines from the Nordex Group in the Canta RES windfarm. By once again opting for our technology, as well as for our latest turbine generation, our partner has shown that our turbines meet its expectations.”
The company also secured an order from an unnamed Turkish utility company, which includes delivery of 14 N149/4.0-4.5 wind turbines. The wind turbines will be installed at 67MW windfarm located in the Marmara region and will also be covered under premium service for ten years.

In September 2019 Nordex secured a contract from Ulusoy Enerji to supply and install its wind turbines at the 110MW Söke windfarm in Turkey.
The windfarm is located near the city of Aydin in the west of Turkey and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
