Wind system manufacturer Vestas has won a contract from Jianshui Suntien Wind Power Energy, which is a part of Hebei Construction & Investment Group, for assisting construction of the 74MW Yunnan Jianshui Qikeshu wind farm in China.
The wind facility will be located in the Yunan province of the country. It will be equipped with 37 units of V100-2.0MW wind turbines, to be supplied and installed by Vestas.
Delivery for the turbines is expected within the third quarter of 2015, following which the facility would be commissioned by the fourth quarter.
Vestas has also agreed to provide active output management (AOM 4000) service for the Chinese wind farm for a two-year period.
Vestas Asia Pacific & China president Chris Beaufait said: "Vestas and Hebei Construction have worked together on several projects in China, and we are pleased they have chosen Vestas technology to meet their requirements for this low-wind site project."
The V100-2.0 MW turbine models are compatible with the low-wind, high-altitude conditions of the region, Vestas claimed.
