Vestas, a Danish manufacturer of wind turbines, has secured a contract from OX2, a Swedish company that develops, builds, finances, and manages renewable energy plants.

As part of the deal, Vestas will be supplying 41 V126-3.45MW turbines with a power optimised mode of 3.6MW and Vestas’ de-icing technology for their OX2’s largest wind power project to date.

Vestas de-icing system ensures a continuous and strong turbine performance in cold climate conditions. Vestas will be delivering the wind turbines by the second quarter of 2018.

"We are very pleased that OX2 has decided to continue building on the already great relationship with Vestas."

Vestas Northern Europe president Klaus Steen Mortensen said: “We are very pleased that OX2 has decided to continue building on the already great relationship with Vestas, this time with an order for their largest ever wind park.

“And we are happy knowing that the order for our upgraded 3MW platform, accompanied by Vestas’ de-icing technology, will ensure full power-curve capacity in cold northern Sweden, where the wind farm will be located”.

This is the third contract Vestas has secured from OX2 in this year, and has strengthened the collaboration between these two companies, as well as their market position in the Nordic region.
