Danish turbine company Vestas has won contracts for a total of 79MW at two windpower plants in Germany and Turkey.
In Germany, Vestas will supply 53MW of 16 V112-3.3MW turbines for the Rethwisch plant in Schleswig-Holstein state.
Awarded by a consortium of Swiss company Holcim (Deutschland) and German company MDP, the order also includes 20-year full-scope service agreement AOM 5000 and VestasOnline Business Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solution.
MDP’s managing director Hans Helmut Kutzeer said: "We chose Vestas’ EPC offering because it enables us to focus our time and resources on our core competency, project development.
"This will be increasingly important going forward to compete in the new auction system."
Under the terms of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract, Vestas will commence delivering and commissioning the turbines in Q4 of this year.
