GE Power has reached an enterprise-wide software agreement with US energy utility Exelon to deploy its Predix software operating system.

As per the terms of the agreement, GE will be integrating its entire suite of Predix across Exelon’s fleet of nuclear, hydroelectric, wind, solar, and natural gas facilities. Exelon anticipates that this deployment will enhance plant reliability and performance.

The agreement is part of Exelon’s broader strategy to partner with technology companies, universities, and government agencies, which will provide an opportunity to develop new technologies and help transform the industry, while delivering benefits to consumers.

Both companies have also revealed that they will co-develop, test, and build next-generation software as a service (SaaS) applications built on the Predix platform for future market opportunities.
