Trina Solar has secured a 20MW module supply contract in China for its newly-launched DUOMAX twin, a bifacial module built with PERC and dual glass technology.
As part of the deal, the company has supplied 20MW of its DUOMAX twin to a project located in Golmud, China.
Trina Solar’s DUOMAX twin has a total power generation capacity ranging from 340W to 350W. The company's vice-president and global sales and marketing head Yin Rongfang said: “It is DUOMAX twin's first order after its launch in the end of March and we'd like to thank our clients for their recognition.
“This year is the market rearing stage for DUOMAX twin and this number will continue to rise steadily.”
DUOMAX twin combines high-efficiency PERC monocrystalline bifacial power technology and dual glass technology, which helps increase system generating capacity significantly.
The power generated offers up to 25% more energy in a wide variety of environments. The latest solar module can be used in projects such as large power stations, solar agriculture projects, and solar-powered fish farms.

By GlobalDataDUOMAX twin can also be effectively used in areas with high diffuse reflection, such as projects located in water-surfaces, snowy areas, circumpolar latitudes, sandy environments, and guard rails on expressways.
The Golmud solar project is located in a sandy area with high diffuse reflection, which poses ideal conditions for the deployment of Trina Solar’s DUOMAX twin.
The front side of the bifacial module absorbs direct light, while its back absorbs reflected light from the ground and scattered light from the air.
The solar project will also be integrated with a tracker that will allow the DUOMAX twin module to absorb more solar energy through movement via the tracker.
