Engineering services company Tetra Tech has secured a new $57m single-award contract to promote delivery of clean energy services in Pakistan.
The contract has been awarded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to support economic and social development in the country.
Tetra Tech's chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Dan Batrack said: “Tetra Tech has delivered innovative energy sector performance improvement solutions to governments and electric utilities for decades.
“We look forward to assisting USAID and the Government of Pakistan in this important programme.”
Under the deal, Tetra Tech will help project developers and investors to leverage the country’s power sector investment, as well as access financing for clean projects to facilitate generation of 2,000MW to 3,000MW capacity over the next four years.
These initiatives will help Pakistan advance its policy reform agenda, which would not only increase private sector investment but also ensure a sustainable supply.
