Germany-based Senvion has signed a long-term support and cooperation framework agreement with PROKON for the development of four windfarms in Germany.
With a total power generation capacity of 100MW, the four new projects will include one 3.2M122 model, five 3.0M122, seven 3.4M140, and one 3.4M114.
Senvion has already signed a conditional contract for 69MW, which also includes a service agreement. Under its terms, Senvion will be responsible for delivering and commissioning.
In the first batch, the German company will install 21 turbines, including Senvion 3.4M140 for low-wind unveiled in September last year.
Senvion’s CEO Jürgen Geissinger said: "Together with PROKON, we will realise this project that includes four different Senvion turbine types from our 3.XM series, including our recently launched Senvion 3.4M140.
"This proves that we have the right turbine for every site in Germany, and we are very much looking forward to the successful completion of the projects together with PROKON."
The Senvion 3.4M140 is equipped with a new pitch system and sound-optimised serrations on its blades, which help it operate in low-wind locations, as well as in forest and mountainous regions.
The 21 turbines will be able to generate approximately 173,000,000KWh every year, which can supply electricity to more than 45,000 German families annually.
