Indian subsidiary of Singapore’s Sembcorp, Sembcorp Green Infra, will develop a 1GW wind power facility in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the intended construction during his visit to Singapore, reported Press Trust of India.

The proposed plant, to be set up in the western parts of the state, is expected to involve an investment of Rs70bn ($1.03bn). It is planned to be developed in two phases.
PTI cited Chouhan as saying that, while the first phase will have 540MW power generation capacity, the second will have 407MW.
"Singapore has agreed to cooperate with Madhya Pradesh in five areas, including food processing, renewable energy, urban planning and smart city, skill development and IT," he added.
The minister has signed MoUs for three other investment proposals with separate entities in Singapore.
The proposed ventures will be subject to further studies.
Sembcorp Green Infra was formed in February last year, when Sembcorp Utilities acquired 60% interest in Indian-based Green Infra for Rs10.6bn ($147.1m).
Remaining stake in the entity is held by IDFC Private Equity Fund III, which is managed by IDFC Alternatives.
