Wind turbine

Samsung Renewable Energy and Pattern Energy Group have finished construction and started commercial operations at the 149MW Grand Renewable Wind facility in Ontario, Canada.

Located in Haldimand County, the facility was developed with assistance from Six Nations of the Grand River.

The clean energy generation plant is equipped with 67 of Siemens 2.3MW turbines.

The facility will be linked with Hydro One Networks’ N5N 230kV transmission line and, once operational, will be able to power around 50,000 households in the Canadian province.

Power generated from the wind power plant will be acquired by Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
