EDF Energies Nouvelles has acquired an 80% stake in UPC Asia Wind Management (AWM).
The move enables subsidiary of Electricite de France SA (EDF) EDF Energies Nouvelles to enter the Chinese wind market.
The remaining 20% stake is held by UPC China and Global Environment Fund (GEF).
The acquisition provides EDF Group the ownership of 1.3GW of wind energy projects, which are either under development, construction, or in operation in China. It also increases the company’s global share in wind energy to 10GW.
Public Power Corporation has agreed to issue a tender offer to sell a 24% stake in its wholly-owned subsidiary Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE).
The offer is applicable to a European transmission operator or joint venture with a grid operator, which needs to offer non-binding expressions of interest by 26 July 2016.
