Netherlands-based Lagerwey has signed an agreement to license its wind turbine technology to Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy (RosAtom) subsidiary OTEK.
Lagerwey and OTEK will be partners in assembling wind turbines for the Russian market and neighbouring countries. In addition, the deal will help create a new joint venture (JV) between Lagerwey and OTEK.

Lagerwey will also support OTEK in establishing an assembly facility for wind turbines in Russia.
With the support, Lagerwey seeks to help produce components for around 250MW of wind turbine capacity per year at an assembly facility in Volgodonsk, Russia. Lagerwey will further provide training to OTEK employees and help establish a local supplier base.
Lagerwey's chief executive officer (CEO) Huib Morelisse said: “Lagerwey has been chosen as OTEK’s technology partner based on its innovative technology, easy logistics for transportation and construction ability to support setting up a domestic wind industry.
“This is an important step in the expansion of Lagerwey technologies.”
