Spanish giant Gamesa has won new orders for three wind power projects, totalling 130MW, in India.
The company has been selected as the engineering, procurement, construction contractor for a 50MW wind project being developed in the state of Gujarat.
To be equipped with 25 Gamesa G97-2.0 W turbines, the farm is scheduled to start commercial operations in September.
The second and third orders are for two 30MW and 50MW wind energy projects in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Gamesa will supply 15 G97-2.0 MW Class S turbines for the second farm and 25 of these turbines for the third. Both the projects are slated to be operational in the first quarter of this year.
The G97-2.0 MW Class S have been tailor-designed for the Indian market for maximising turbine performance at low wind speed sites.

In December, the firm won a turnkey construction order from Tata Power for the 100MW Nimbagallu wind project in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Expected to be commissioned in May 2017, the wind farm will be equipped with 50 G97-2.0MW class S turbines.
