New Jersey's electricity provider PSEG Solar Source has acquired a 16.8MW direct current (DC) solar energy facility from global developer and operator of utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects Ecoplexus.
The PSEG Turkey Creek Solar Energy Center is located in Northampton County, North Carolina (NC). The facility has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Virginia Electric and Power Company.

PSEG Solar Source's president Diana Drysdale said: "We are delighted to work with a top-flight developer like Ecoplexus as we continue to grow our business and expand our solar portfolio across the country.
"This purchase is another example of PSEG's commitment to providing a sustainable energy future. When operational, this facility will power 2,400 homes."
Upon completion of the project, Ecoplexus will operate the project for PSEG Solar Source and the new facility will feature nearly 50,000 mono-crystalline Trina Solar panels with Power Electronics inverters.
Ecoplexus' CEO John Gorman said: "The Turkey Creek project will create approximately 185 construction jobs in addition to adding to the tax base of Northhampton County community."
