Danish manufacturer of diesel generators Danvest and Scandinavian distributor Pon Power have launched new cmpact hybrid system for solar–diesel microgrids.
Featuring Danvest’s unique, low-load and reverse-power operation and fast-response capabilities, the new series has been designed to automatically integrate photovoltaic systems with diesel power.
Hybrid plants run on solarpower during the day when the sun's radiation is at peak levels. They respond to any drop in solar output or increase in power demand. The generator sets act as an active spinning reserve with very small amounts of fuel consumption.
Developed based on Caterpillar generator sets, Compact is equipped with Danvest’s control-and power-panel system with dump-load controlling. Fitted in sound-attenuated enclosures, the system features an open architecture, which allows incorporation of storage systems and additional solar capacity to further increase overall fuel-saving performance.
Currently, the company offers four standard compact hybrid power modules, HSD-220 (220 kWe rating), Model HSD-400 (400 kWe rating), Model HSD-500 (508 kWe rating), and Model HSD-650 (648 kWe rating). These are available as plug-and-play building blocks.
